Abstract

Education is the foundation of individual and social progress, yet today’s primary education system often becomes a burden rather than a source of learning and joy. The paper highlights key issues such as the excessive weight of school bags, lack of effective teacher training, exam pressure, outdated teaching methods, and unnecessary homework. These factors collectively harm children’s physical and mental health, reduce their interest in learning, and hinder the development of creativity and critical thinking. The study argues that the curriculum should be simplified and aligned with children’s natural abilities and interests. It emphasizes the importance of activity-based learning, age-appropriate admission, elimination of unnecessary homework, and assessment through observation rather than stressful exams. The paper also stresses the shared responsibility of parents, teachers, and educational institutions in providing a supportive environment. Drawing guidance from the Qur’an and Hadith, it concludes that true education is not just the acquisition of knowledge but also the cultivation of moral character, social responsibility, and spiritual growth. A balanced, ethical, and learner-centered system inspired by Islamic principles can produce a creative, responsible, and morally upright generation.
