Abstract

Okara district is an important region from an academic and religious perspective, where numerous scholars and researchers have played a significant role in the teaching, compilation, and propagation of Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ. This study presents an overview of the intellectual background of Okara and examines the contributions of scholars associated with this region in the field of Seerat writing. In this region, scholars such as Abu al-Fazl Ghulam Ali Okarvi, Maulana Shafi Okarvi, Maulana Abdul Halim Okarvi, Maulana Noor Ahmad, Maulvi Abdul Ghafoor Okarvi, Maulvi Muhammad Ismail Okarvi, Maulvi Abdul Karim Okarvi, Hafiz Ghulam Rasool, and Hafiz Muhammad Ismail have contributed to different aspects of Seerat writing. Their services are mostly reflected in sermons, pamphlets, academic books, and concise compilations of Seerat. For example, Maulana Abdul Halim Okarvi’s book “Seerat Mustafa ﷺ” is a comprehensive Seerat booklet in which events from the Prophet’s life are presented in a simple and accessible style. Similarly, Maulana Noor Ahmad’s work “Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ: Shariah and Historical Status” presents a scholarly and research-based perspective on the subject of Milad. Maulvi Abdul Ghafoor Okarvi wrote a concise Seerat booklet aimed at delivering basic knowledge of the Prophet’s biography to the general public, while Maulvi Muhammad Ismail’s “Uswa-e-Rasool ﷺ” highlights the practical model of the life of the Holy Prophet
