The Promise of the Holy Land in the Light of the Qur’an, Hadith, and the Bible
Abstract
The Promised Holy Land refers to the land which Allah promised to the Children of Israel and which is present today in the form of Israel and Palestine. This land is regarded as the center of divine religions and sacred places. According to Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, Jerusalem is the center of this region and is considered among the holiest cities. In this land, the prophets Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), Dawud (David), and Isa (Jesus), peace be upon them, came and conveyed the call of truth. This land has historical, religious, cultural, and political significance. It has remained a center of civilizations for thousands of years and is still regarded as an important point in world politics today. In the Qur’an and the Bible, the virtues of this land and various incidents related to it have been described in different ways. It is also believed that this land was made a center of worship and guidance for the blessed people. Over time, it remained a center of various civilizations, but even today its religious significance remains established. The present-day state of Israel, in accordance with that promise of God, has for several years strengthened its military power and administrative system in order to obtain its land, due to which wars have taken place in which both sides have suffered great losses. Because of this, issues concerning humanity and religion have become a serious problem for the whole world, and despite various international laws and efforts by organizations, a peaceful and independent solution has not yet been possible.
