Abstract

Youth constitute one of the most valuable assets of any nation and play a decisive role in its intellectual, moral, social, and economic development. This study examines the role of youth and the contemporary challenges they face from the perspective of the Qur'an and Sunnah. The paper highlights the importance of youth by referring to Qur'anic examples such as the People of the Cave (Ashab al-Kahf) and the young followers of Prophet Musa (A.S.), as well as Prophetic teachings that emphasize the significance of youth, responsibility, and accountability. Furthermore, it discusses the major challenges confronting modern youth, including the loss of purpose in life, weak attachment to divine guidance, career-centered lifestyles, moral decline, educational shortcomings, globalization, lack of balanced character development, and unfamiliarity with Islamic history and civilization. The study concludes that the Qur'an and Sunnah provide a comprehensive framework for nurturing responsible, morally upright, and intellectually sound youth. It also emphasizes the collective responsibility of parents, educators, scholars, and society in preparing young people to meet contemporary challenges while preserving their Islamic identity and values.
