Abstract

The digital age has significantly expanded access to information through social media and online communication platforms. However, these platforms have also contributed to the spread of Islamophobia. Online Islamophobia, through hate speech, misinformation, discriminatory narratives, and negative propaganda, adversely affects the religious, social, and psychological identity of Muslim youth. This study aims to examine the impact of online Islamophobia on the identity of Muslim youth and to propose possible solutions in the light of Islamic teachings. A qualitative research approach has been adopted by analyzing the Qur'an, Hadith, classical Islamic literature, contemporary scholarly works, and recent academic studies. The findings indicate that online Islamophobia contributes to identity crisis, social isolation, psychological stress, and religious uncertainty among Muslim youth. The study concludes that Islamic teachings, educational awareness, responsible media practices, and interfaith dialogue can play a significant role in addressing this growing challenge.
